Mindful Path Counseling
"This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they are a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice. meet them at the door laughing and invite them in. "
This beautiful poem by Rumi captures how I approach my work with my clients. Within the therapeutic container we will create, there is space to acknowledge and hold all parts of you. I cannot promise that doing this type of deep and honest work will always be easy but I can promise that you will not do it alone. Whatever concerns you bring to our sessions, I will greet with great compassion, respect, and thoughtfulness.

About Renee
Hello! My name is Renee and I have been a therapist for over 15 years. I feel continually grateful to have found a profession that provides so much meaning in my life. It is an incredible gift to witness someone say with true conviction that they love themselves for the first time or to finally achieve a dream that anxiety had previously blocked them from pursuing or to know that their life is not defined by their past trauma.
My drive to help others originally led me to consider working in public policy, but through various personal and professional experiences, I discovered that I felt my most authentic self when working one-on-one with others. My training as a social worker taught me to look at individuals not as just a diagnosis but through the lens of the various systemic issues that impact them.
Prior to starting my private practice, I worked for a decade in public schools as both a special education teacher and school social worker/mental health specialist. I really enjoy working with clients who are also in the helping fields. Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy riding my bike, reading, and living room dance parties with my family.
